Terms of use
These terms cover Flirtify, Hangout and Bondable (the "apps"), made by Luc B. Perussault-Diallo, a private individual running InRealLife ("InRealLife", "we"). Details about who we are and how to contact us are in the legal notice. By creating an account you agree to them and to the community guidelines.
Who can use the apps
You must be 18 or older, use your real first name and photos of yourself, and have only one account. You can't use the apps if we have banned you before.
What we provide
The apps help people find and join small in-person activities hosted by other people. Most activities are organized by members. IRL also creates free public activities on Bondable and Hangout. These have no host: a participant takes the lead, chooses the meeting spot and coordinates the activity on the day. We don't run venues, we aren't party to arrangements between people, and we don't handle any costs you share.
We don't run criminal background checks. The selfie check only shows that a profile belongs to a real person who looks like their photos. Read our safety advice.
Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for your own conduct, and for your safety at activities.
- Hosts describe their activity honestly, pick public places that suit it, and show up or cancel in time.
- Don't use the apps to sell, advertise, recruit, or collect other people's data, and don't use bots or scrape the apps or the API. A person may be paid for the expertise they contribute during the activity itself. A place can't use plans to fill its own tables, rooms or seats, and a plan can't be bait to sell something else. On Flirtify, the host is never paid.
Money
The price of an activity can cover the bill, a ticket, materials, or the host's fee for expertise provided during the activity. The description states the approximate amount per person and whether the host covers the cost or participants pay their share. On Flirtify, the host is never paid. No money moves through InRealLife.
Never use InRealLife to pay or be paid for someone's company or for sex, or to offer or request such payment, however it is phrased. We ban the accounts involved in every InRealLife app and, where the law requires it, report them to the authorities.
What you post
You keep the rights to what you post: photos, bio, activity titles and descriptions. You let us store, show and process it only to run the apps for you and the people you meet, and to keep them safe. This permission ends when you delete it or your account, except where we must keep something by law or for a report under review.
A link to a public post you add after a plan can be shown on that activity's page and the page for its next occurrence, and shared by InRealLife's accounts with the platform's own tools, credited to you. Both options are enabled when you add the link; you can turn either off, then or later. We never copy the post itself. Anyone in a post can ask us to take it down at takedown at inreallife.technology: it's done within 24 hours.
Religion and politics
InRealLife brings people together through shared real-world experiences, not shared beliefs.
Activities. An activity can't be organized around religious practice, preaching, political campaigning or advocacy, recruiting to a movement, or debates about religion or politics. It can't be advertised to, or limited to, people of a religion, denomination, party or ideology, in its title, description or anywhere else. Cultural celebrations, history, education and ordinary social plans are welcome, and can mention religion or politics as their subject.
Profiles. You can say what you believe, and on Flirtify what you're looking for in a partner. You can't say that people of a religion or political view aren't welcome, or use your profile to recruit. Whom you meet stays your decision.
Conduct. Everyone may hold and respectfully share their beliefs. Hosts and participants can't use an activity to pressure, recruit, solicit or discriminate against anyone for religious or political reasons, and a host can't change an activity into something other than what was advertised.
How we decide. We look at an activity's purpose, content, who it's open to and what actually happened, not isolated words. The rule applies equally to every religion, denomination, party, movement and belief. We don't judge or endorse anyone's beliefs.
Moderation
We review first activities, selfie checks and every report, and software checks every activity when it's published or changed. Software helps us sort what to look at first, but a person makes every decision. Depending on what happened we may remove content, warn you, suspend your account, or ban it in every InRealLife app. We tell you what we decided and why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
If you disagree with a decision, write to appeals at inreallife.technology within 6 months. A different person reviews it. In the EU you can also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body.
To report illegal content, use Report in the app, or write to hello at inreallife.technology if you don't have an account. Authorities can reach us at the same address.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time, or without the app. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk.
Paid features
The apps are free. If we add paid features, we'll say what they cost and their refund terms before you pay.
Liability
We provide the apps as they are and do our best to keep them working and safe. We're not responsible for participants' conduct or content posted by others. Member-hosted activities are organized by their hosts and, where relevant, the specialist operators they name. IRL also creates free public activities on Bondable and Hangout: IRL manages their schedule, capacity and cancellation, while a participant takes the lead, chooses the meeting spot and coordinates the activity on the day. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before. If you keep using the apps after that, the new terms apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in the EU, you keep the protections of your country's consumer law and can bring a claim there.
